🚨 In Case of Non-Receipt of e-Admit Card

If a candidate does not receive or is unable to download the e-Admit Card or any other official communication from UPSC at least 3 days prior to the examination, they must immediately contact the Commission through one of the following options:

🏢 In-Person Visit

Visit the Facilitation Counter at the UPSC Office in person.

Carry all relevant documents and details related to your application for faster resolution.

📞 Telephonic Assistance

Contact the Candidate Helpdesk:

☎️ 011-24041001

Working hours as per Commission's schedule

🚨 Critical Note: If no such communication is made by the candidate within the stipulated time, UPSC will not be responsible for the non-receipt of the e-Admit Card. The candidate alone will bear all consequences of non-contact.
🔍 Verification of Eligibility — Post Written Exam

Receiving an e-Admit Card does not guarantee final eligibility. The following rules apply at all stages of the selection process.

📋

e-Admit Card is Provisional

The issuance of an e-Admit Card is not a final approval of the candidate's eligibility or claims made in the application form.

📑

Document Scrutiny After Written Stage

Only after a candidate qualifies the written stage, UPSC will verify eligibility by examining original documents.

Status Remains Provisional

Until the verification process is complete, the candidate's status will remain provisional at all stages.

⚖️

UPSC Decision is Final

The decision of the UPSC on the eligibility of candidates is final and binding at all times.

🔠 Name Abbreviations on Admit Cards: Candidates may observe that their names might appear in abbreviated forms on the e-Admit Cards due to technical formatting limitations. This is normal and does not affect the validity of the admit card.
📧 Importance of Valid Email ID & Communication Address

Candidates must ensure their contact information is accurate and kept current throughout the entire exam cycle.

📧 Email ID Requirements

The email address provided in the online application form must be valid, active, and accessible throughout the exam cycle.

UPSC may use this email ID to communicate official updates or instructions at different stages of the selection process.

⚠️ Note: Non-receipt due to an inactive or incorrect email ID is the sole responsibility of the candidate.
🏠 Postal Address Requirements

The postal address provided in the application must be current and correct at all times.

If a candidate changes address, they must inform the Commission as soon as possible.

📌 Note: UPSC does not take responsibility if the communication fails to reach due to delay in updating the address.
🚫 No Exam Entry with Wrong e-Admit Card: Candidates are strictly prohibited from attempting to appear in the exam using an e-Admit Card issued to another person. Doing so will lead to immediate disqualification and legal consequences.
✉️ Mandatory Information for Any Correspondence with UPSC

If a candidate needs to contact UPSC regarding their candidature or examination-related issues, every communication must include all of the following details without fail.

  • 1
Name and Year of the Examination — e.g., CAPF AC (current year)
  • 2
Registration ID (RID) — generated during online application
  • 3
Roll Number — if already allotted at the time of writing
  • 4
Full Name of the Candidate — written in BLOCK LETTERS
  • 5
Complete Postal Address — exactly as provided in the application form
  • 6
Valid and Active Email ID — as registered in the application
❗ Warning: Communications that do not include all of the above particulars may be ignored or remain unaddressed by the Commission.
💡
Pro Tip — Keep a Copy of Your Application: Candidates are strongly advised to retain a printed or digital copy of their submitted online application form. This will be helpful for future references, dispute resolution, or document verification stages.

📏 Key Rules for Centre Allotment
1

Centre & Exam Date Modifications

The UPSC reserves the right to change any exam centre or date at its discretion based on administrative exigencies.

2

First-Apply-First-Allot Basis

Centre allotment follows a strictly enforced "first-apply-first-allot" policy. Candidates applying early will have a higher chance of being allotted their preferred centre.

3

Ceiling Limit for Most Centres

All exam centres except Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata, and Nagpur have a maximum capacity. Once a centre is full, it will be frozen — candidates must choose from remaining centres.

4

No Change After Allotment

Once allotted, requests for change of examination centre will not be entertained under any circumstances.

⚠️ Apply Early: Since centre allotment is strictly on a first-apply-first-allot basis, candidates are strongly advised to apply as early as possible to secure their preferred examination centre before it reaches capacity.
